Adult Faith Formation in January 2020

The Christian faith is, above all, conversion to Jesus Christ.
Every day is a new opportunity to walk with Jesus and discover aspects of him and yourself that you would not otherwise come to know. Fully participating in your relationship with Jesus will truly make a difference in your life, assuring both growth and fruitfulness – excerpt “Activated Catholic Disciple”
At Christ the King, we invite all adults to participate in cultivating your personal relationship with Christ through the Sacraments, numerous formation offerings, retreats and events.

Catholic Fellowship Group begins again on January 7th, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Formation Center in Sr. Joan’s Room

Prophet Priest and King (12- Part Session)

The better we understand Jesus, the better we understand ourselves. But who was Jesus, this itinerant preacher whom many called the Messiah? In Priest, Prophet, King, you’ll discover Jesus as the Anointed One – the ultimate priest, prophet, and king foreshadowed throughout the Hebrew Scriptures. Using biblical insights and engaging stories, Bishop Barron affirms that we see Jesus most clearly through the lens of the Old Testament. If you have questions please contact Gerald Garduno at 719-252-8508 or Rich Dudley at 719-369-9115.

Woman’s Bible Study Group meets again on January 15th

Seven Deadly Sins, Seven Lively Virtues

Join Bishop Robert Barron for this presentation of the seven deadly sins, those great spiritual blocks that inhibit our flourishing in relationship with God and one another. Pride, envy, anger, sloth, gluttony, avarice and lust are all presented as patterns of dysfunction within us that lead to unhappiness.

Bishop Barron shows us how to counteract these seven sinful patterns through a conscious process of opposition, known as the “seven lively virtues.” These offer antidotes to each sin and help set us on the right path to healing and happiness.
