Religious Formation News for May 29th

May 29, 2020

Parents and guardians –

I’m attaching this Sunday’s bulletin, which has pictures and names of the seniors in high school and college from Christ the King.  Check it out – and pray for these wonderful young people as they “go make a difference in the world.”

We will still be livestreaming Mass this Sunday as we continue to work on ways to begin a “drive-in” Mass – which is getting closer!  We were happy to get a donation of an FM transmitter until ours arrives.  Fr. John will make an announcement after Mass this Sunday if we know by then when we will begin.  Otherwise, keep an eye on the website, your email and Facebook for more information.

In the meantime tune in this Sunday at 9:30 am:

This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost.   Here is a 2 minute video on what Pentecost is:  Here is a fun cartoon telling the story – I encourage you to watch it as a family:   Because we consider Pentecost the birthday of the church, here is a recipe for a Pentecost birthday cake:

First Communion:  I will be contacting everyone individually to let you know what we need to do to finish preparation for First Communion.  We still have not worked out when or how we will celebrate this important sacrament for your child, but we will continue preparation so we are ready when this is decided.

Middle school:  This week, LifeTeen will be kicking off their Life Night series, Downside Up. The first Life Night of this series is Lonely Together.  Below is the link to the live broadcast on Sunday at 3 p.m.  I encourage you to watch it with your teen:   You will be able to continue to connect to this resource every week at 3 p.m. on YouTube.

High School: This coming Sunday we will have our last Bible Study at 3:30 p.m.  Courtney will send you an invite via Flocknote.

Blessings on your Pentecost!
