Parents and Guardians –
Welcome to the start of the 2020-2021 Religious Formation year! This year is going to look very different from past years, so please read the details below carefully. We will have in-person and online (or at-home) options for each age level. We will send out a more specific schedule once we know how many kids we have registered and how they will participate. For now, the plan is to begin Formation on Sunday, October 4. Pre-kindergarten through 8th Grade kids and their parents will meet from 9:15 a.m – 10:45 a.m. (note the time change). High School students will meet at 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. All ages will meet in the Little Flower Formation Center. The rooms will be labeled for age groups.
We need your registrations ASAP in order to solidify the schedule, the class sizes and specifics on dates and times. Please register by September 22 or sooner, even if you need to delay payment. Here is a link for an online registration. https://forms.gle/uVsxGCraEJcYyvaeA
You can now pay online! The fees can be paid all at once or you can spread it out over payments.
Fees: 1 child – $40 2 children – $55 3 or more children – $70. Cost is for total children in any grade.
Be assured that any in-person gatherings will follow all the guidelines set by the Pueblo County Health Department to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. If you need further information please visit their website: https://county.pueblo.org/public-health/covid-19.
We are planning on meeting with Parents and Kids the first weekend of every month. The kids are in their age-specific classrooms and the parents will meet together in another room. It is imperative that parents meet with us because we will be training them to work with their kids at home the other three weekends of the month. We will have an online option for parents to watch this presentation from home if they are not comfortable being in person. We will also have family events (like the pet blessing, posada, outdoor pilgrimage and adoration) sprinkled in here and there.
Depending on how many people register, we may have to do this monthly gathering at two different times in order to accommodate social distancing. It is important for people to register early for this reason!
First Reconciliation and First Communion plans will be worked out directly with families at a later date. It will likely be a blend of in-person and at-home instruction.
We will be utilizing a small group curriculum with 4-8 kids in each group. Middle school students can also participate in the at-home curriculum and attend the family events. When these groups meet and how often they meet will depend on the number of kids and facilitators we have. They can meet on Sundays at 9:15 a.m. or 12 p.m., depending on what works best for everyone involved. We will also have an online option for middle school students.
Confirmation will be available to 7th Graders and older this year if the students participated in religious formation last year. Plans for preparation will be worked out with those families at a later time.
We will be utilizing a small group curriculum with 4-8 teens in each group. High school students can also participate in the at-home curriculum if they have younger siblings and attend the family events. We will meet at 12 p.m. on Sundays. How often they meet will depend on the number of teens and facilitators we have. We will also have an online option for high school students.
Confirmation preparation will be available for all high school students who participated in religious formation last year. Plans for preparation will be worked out at a later time.
It is so important that we get registrations in soon so we can plan appropriately. Please fill out the attached form https://forms.gle/uVsxGCraEJcYyvaeA
Blessings on your day!
