The role of the pastor is threefold.
- The pastor oversees, enables and monitors the ministry life of the parish as a whole in a collegial relationship with the councils and the parish staff.
- The pastor is the consensus-builder who, through the open yet disciplined exchange of ideas, perspectives and plans, assists the pastoral leaders, the pastoral leadership groups and the people as a whole to come to common agreement about the shape of the parish’s Gospel ministries and ministry relationships.
- The pastor also equips the pastoral leaders and leadership groups in their efforts to implement group decisions, and insures that they are free to do their ministry.
